I am a 20+ year homeschool veteran and mom to 7. I have always been a voracious reader and remember loving books even as a small child. I want all kids to be able to experience what it is like to 'disappear' into a different world through words on a page! My passion for children and literacy made tutoring a natural transition for me when my homeschooling days came to an end. The mother of a neurodivergent child myself, I understand the frustration that can be involved both for the child and for the parent trying to navigate the situation.

Experience :

• I was formally trained in the Orton Gillingham Method, am Certified in the Barton Reading and Spelling System and have tutored students using those methods since 2015. I have had the pleasure of working with all ages, from very young children to adults. Working with such a variety of students, I understand that struggling to read affects the student not only on an educational level but on an emotional level as well. I was a tutor volunteer for many years then was contracted by a private school to tutor struggling readers. I shifted to online tutoring during Covid and have continued to tutor exclusively online.
