I love tutoring – being a detective, coach, cheerleader and learning partner all at the same time. Together with the student, we figure out how he or she learns best and we build a toolkit they can use for years to come. With each student, we use a customized combination of approaches, including Orton-Gillingham multi-sensory reading instruction, self-regulated strategy development (SRSD) for writing, technology, and a variety of tools for building fluency, vocabulary and reading comprehension.

Experience :

• I have worked with students from early childhood on into graduate school. I have worked in public schools as a special educator, and as a tutor with students with dyslexia, as students with many other differences that impact their learning, including ADHD, autism, and other conditions. I have been offering tutoring online since 2017.

Education :

• I am a Certified Dyslexia Therapist. I have been a Certified Dyslexia Practitioner since 2014, after completing the Children's Dyslexia Center's Orton-Gillingham certification program. This year I completed the Dyslexia Therapy course. This rigorous course focused on assessing students with reading challenges and providing advanced literacy instruction, especially for older students, including morphology, vocabulary, comprehension, and fluency.
