I am an experienced literacy educator and researcher. I am driven to deliver student growth and results utilizing the Orton-Gillingham approach. Through my instruction, I strive to build student confidence and engagement through opportunities for multisensory instruction, gamified learning, and regular progress monitoring to track goals. I teach all levels of reading and writing, from foundational skills through content writing.

Experience :

• I have tutored privately online and in-person as an Orton-Gillingham tutor since 2023, working with elementary and middle school aged students.
• Beyond tutoring, I have taught for five years in public and private schools in the United States and Egypt and am a certified teacher in Massachusetts. At Cairo American College, I led learning support services for students in upper elementary grades focused on early literacy and numeracy. My work led to an increase in words read correctly per minute by an average of 55% and accuracy by 29% for students receiving intensive intervention. In Boston, I was a Literacy and ELL Specialist at Codman Academy, where my work led to a 47% increase in words read correctly per minute in one semester and 60% of ELL students were reclassified as non language learners based on exam results.
• Outside of direct instruction, I have contributed to research on literacy outcomes and instructional strategies at the Boston Public Schools and Harvard Graduate School of Education. I completed a Fulbright fellowship in Argentina on English teaching instruction.
