Hello! My name is Dr. Rachel Sample A/OGA, SL/DI, and I’m a dedicated dyslexia tutor, military wife, and proud mother of eight wonderful children. For the past 22 years, I’ve balanced the joys and challenges of marriage, motherhood, and military life while homeschooling all of my children — an experience that has shaped not only my family but my calling as an educator.

My journey into the world of dyslexia and specialized reading instruction began when two of my children were diagnosed with dyslexia. As I navigated their learning needs, I discovered a deep passion for helping children with language-based learning differences thrive. Along the way, I also gained personal experience supporting children with autism, ADHD, and other unique learning needs.

Experience :

• I began dyslexia intervention 9 years ago with my daughter, and since then began taking on additional students 6 years ago. I have worked with students from the ages of 5 through 16, but I am able to teach and remediate through adulthood.

Education :

• Academically, I hold a Ph.D. in History (graduated with distinction), a Master’s degree in Curriculum, Instruction, and Leadership in Education (graduated with high honors), and a Bachelor’s in Education. I am certified by the Center for Effective Reading Instruction (CERI) and the Orton-Gillingham Academy (OGA), where I am currently completing the Certified Level Practicum.
