I am passionate about the intersection of language acquisition, literacy, and social emotional learning. I believe that students thrive when they feel safe, valued, and their education builds on their strengths. I work to support students of various backgrounds who are learning to read in an effort to free up their minds to devote themselves to the many joys and necessary problem-solving skills they need to be successful members of society.

• 2022 - Present Second Grade MLL Teacher
• Second-Grade MLL Teacher: I am responsible for the English Acquisition education for 30+ multilingual second grade students. I develop small group lessons and collaborate with classroom teachers to scaffold material and ensure academic and linguistic background knowledge is built for MLL students.
• PGT Facilitator: I lead a team of 10 K-5 MLL teachers in weekly professional development and organization within their various grade level teams.
• ACCESS Test Coordinator: I co-lead the ACCESS standardized testing at my school, organizing 10+ teachers and 300+ students.

• I completed a Masters of Education Reading Specialist program, a rigorous program covering both theoretical and practical education regarding the science of reading. In addition to my coursework I completed a 100 hour practicum teaching OG lessons to 2 high-needs students with measurable success to their reading skills.
