Hi! I am an English teacher turned reading specialist. My teaching career began as a secondary school English teacher. I realized my students were having trouble because they were unable to read grade level material! I had my master's degree in literacy and switched to a reading specialist position in my school district. I have been learning as much as I can about evidence-based reading practice ever since!

Experience :

• I have been a full time reading specialist for the past 4 years. I taught English for 4 years before that. I am LETRS trained, have completed my Orton-Gillingham associate training coursework, and am in the midst of my practicum. I work with students who have language acquisition disabilities, other disabilities, and those who simply needed explicit reading instruction. I tutor in addition to teaching full time as a reading specialist.

Education :

• I went to SUNY Geneseo for my bachelor's degree in English and education. I have a master's degree in Literacy Birth-Grade 12.

Orton-Gillingham Training Information :

• LETRS and Orton-Gillingham associate level training. I am working on my practicum now!
