Hello! I am a Speech-Language Pathologist, Reading Specialist Trained in Orton-Gillingham, and Owner of Tender Links Communication, LLC. At TLC our team specializes in providing dynamic and skilled intervention to individuals struggling with reading, spelling, writing, and comprehension secondary to Dyslexia, Specific Learning Disabilities, Auditory Processing Disorders, or other language-based reading disorders/difficulties.

At TLC, our team utilizes the latest research in the Science of Reading to incorporate the Structured Literacy methodology of Orton-Gillingham and all 5 pillars of literacy (phonological awareness, phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension) plus language comprehension, spelling, and writing to drive measurable gains for all individuals.

This research driven instructional method uses the foundational principles of Orton-Gillingham: explicit, direct, sequential, systematic and multi-sensory instruction which is not only effective to teach reading, but especially essential for teaching those with Dyslexia. This structured, sequential, and multi-sensory approach means individuals are learning language by ear (listening), mouth (speaking), eyes (seeing), and hand (writing), an overall process involving listening to sounds and saying the sounds and names of letters while writing them.

By using the principles of the Orton-Gillingham Method to teach phonics sequentially combined with multi-sensory tools, TLC Reading Specialists provide struggling readers from foundational skills (beginning age 3-4) to higher level comprehension or writing skills (K-12) a highly individualized data driven plan with proven results. TLC Reading Specialists work to foster improved cognitive learning for readers to become more confident and efficient in their reading, spelling, writing, and language skills ultimately overcoming their reading struggles.
