I currently work as a private tutor and for a program that provides reading intervention for at risk students. I use the Orton Gillingham approach which is amazing for all students. It's estimated that 30% of our students are not reached by the current programs available in schools. If your child does not like to read or is struggling, a different approach is probably the key. Through the methods of Orton Gillingham and building phonemic awareness students can become strong readers. Every student I have had seems to brighten at the logic of Orton Gillingham and they build their confidence as they go. This helps make learning much more accessible and fun!

I have a background in elementary education and hold a professional teaching license with a special education endorsement. I have worked with students from pre-school through 6th grade. I enjoy finding the best ways to help each of my students.
