I specialize in helping children overcome the challenges of dyslexia and related reading difficulties. As a Certified Academic Language Therapist, I provide structured, evidence-based interventions tailored to each individual's unique learning needs. I believe every learner deserves the tools and support to succeed, and I’m here to make that journey a positive experience.

Experience :

• I have been an educator with Texas public schools for 27 years. For the last 5 years, I have served as a dyslexia interventionist utilizing both the Reading by Design and Take Flight programs.

Education :

• I received my teaching degree in 1998 from Texas Tech University. In June 2022, I began my dyslexia therapist training with the Dyslexia Center of Austin to become a Certified Academic Language Therapist. I was trained using Take Flight: A Comprehensive Intervention for Students with Dyslexia,
• developed by the staff of the Luke Waites Center for Dyslexia and Learning Disorders at Scottish Rite for Children. In June 2024, I received my CALT-C certification and am currently pursuing a Master’s Degree in Special Education with an emphasis on dyslexia at Midwestern State University.

Orton-Gillingham Training Information :

• I have been trained with two different Orton-Gillingham based programs, Reading By Design, and Take Flight. As a CALT-C, I have completed over 200 hours of therapy-level training and 700 hours of supervised practicum, as well as passed the ALTA Certification Exam at the therapy level.
