My creative side comes through as I teach reading, spelling and writing based on the Orton Gillingham program - a sequential, multisensory phonetic approach. I enrolled in the first certification program in 2012 so that I could help students who were struggling to read. I quickly found out that I was making a lasting impact on them. Two lessons a week for one hour each quickly helps students build skills and "catch up". In 2019 I became advanced certified as a Dyslexia Practitioner 2 and now enjoy teaching more on Greek/Latin roots to help students understand the written word.
